Ideal Locations for a Plot

    Tranquil and peaceful surroundings with excess traffic, noise or distractions as little as possible.

  • Nature growth and Water

    Use fertilizer for a more fertile land or have water nearby a productive plot to create energy and prosperity for new growth.

  • Positive energy

    Stand on the plot, feel the energy of it, and really pay attention to your gut and your instincts.

  • History of Land

    Try to avoid an area where the residents in the past have not been happy or prosperous.

  • Access to Roads

    Ideally, you want a property with access to roads on all four sides; if that is not possible, look for one where the north or the east roads are near.  It is better for sun, wind, and some privacy with the house.

Avoid
  • A negative past

    Suicide, a repeated history of death, or selling land "under duress".

  • Visibility and Noise of Publicly Traveled Land

    A distance of at least that will be eighty (80) to one hundred (100) feet from hospitals, factories, sugar or rice mills, schools, temples, etc., from the plot you are considering.

  • Unpleasant odors

    In a vicinity that has specific businesses of laundries(clothing), tanneries, and beyond (some bone); any waste or sewage.

  • Undesirable land and water and drainage

    Such as cracked, extremely wet, uneven, or sometimes lots that are oddly shaped; they can cause construction issues.

  • Don't buy Riverside properties or a T or Y angle Intersection

    (as in Veethi Shool) or a T or Y angle intersection along the property. They can cause heat, nerves and/or disruption of energy.

  • Plot Shape Guidelines

    Shape is a factor in the wellness of the residents. Here is a quick reference to guidelines:

    • Square Plot

      Ideal Provides yard for all-around growth, wealth, and happiness. A central courtyard is easy to incorporate in plans for ventilation.

    • Rectangular Plot

      Good. Ideally, the greater length should face North and the lesser width should face the West. It can provide health and wealth and use land better than other shape plots.

    • Triangular Plot

      Not advisable. The plot shapes are known to be a fire hazard and unstable.

    • Circular/oval/elliptical

      Not fruitful for residences; they can bring ill luck.

    • Plot Shapes With More Than Four Angles

      Pentagon, hexagon, or octagon shapes are inauspicious.

    • Gou-Mukhi Plot

      Narrow in the front, broad in the rear; this plot is good for residences, as it can promote growth and prosperity.

    • Simha-Mukhi Plot

      Broad in the front, narrow in the back; advisable for commercial purposes, but not for residences.

    • Plots with Cut Corners

      Not recommended, as they can generally be inauspicious, unless you engage a Vastu expert to address the corners.

    • Plot Extensions

      North, East, or North-East extensions are good! South-West, South-East, or North-West extensions are not.

  • Site Orientation Recommendations

    The orientation of the site can influence its applicability.

    • East Orientation

      Preferred site orientation for academics, educators, and spiritual practitioners. Enjoy the sun in the morning.

    • North Orientation

      Feasible site orientation for leaders, administrators, and civil servants.

    • South Orientation

      Excellent site orientation for business and management professionals.

    • West Orientation

      Perhaps a good site orientation for service delivery or supporting services.

  • Site Soil Recommendations

    Soil type can be paramount in construction.

    • Best Soil

      Soils that are fertile like red, brick-red, brown, or yellow will yield good land for cultivation and will be good for foundations.

    • Avoid

      Soils that are clayey, black or that retain water can cause dampness and are expensive to waterproof.

    • Rocky or Thorns

      Generally avoid a site that is rocky or thorny as these can be indicative of challenging conditions and increased construction costs.

    • Too Loose

      Avoid or assess if the soil is soft or supports or worms, as the soil may be too loose for a stable foundation.

  • Understanding Veethi Shool

    Plots that face roads meeting at either T or Y intersections are referred to as Veethi Shool (Road Arrows). The impact depends on the direction of the traffic on the roads:

    • Good Sites

      East-Northeast, North-Northeast

    • Not Bad Sites

      West-Northwest, South-Southeast

    • Bad Sites

      East-Southeast, North-Northwest

    • Very Bad Sites

      West-Southwest, South-Southwest
